Munster Teams Compete In Leinster Girls Rugby Extravaganza
27th April 2010 By Munster Rugby
This past Sunday saw three Munster Clubs travel to Naas RFC to take part in a Girls Rugby Blitz.
Carrigaline RFC, Shannon RFC and a combination of players from Bandon, Highfield and Crosshaven provided six age grade teams to take part in the Blitz.
Other Clubs in attendance on the day were Wicklow, Gorey, Clane, Naas, Kildare and Wexford. The standard of rugby on display was excellent with most games too close to call. Whatever was asked of the teams on the day they committed to the task at hand with massive enthusiasm and skill.
There was almost a clean sweep for the Munster clubs with Shannon RFC taking the U13 title, Carrigaline U15’s coming out on top in their age grade and Shannon RFC U17’s narrowly beaten into the runner up place by Gorey RFC.
Munster Rugby would like to take this opportunity to thank Jennie Bagnall from Leinster Rugby for organising the event and Naas RFC for hosting.
