Munster U16s Take On Blue Crane
6th October 2017 By cliona quaid
A Munster U16 selection of combined south and east Munster players recently competed in a one off fixture against Blue Crane, a touring team from South Africa, who were made up of players from schools throughout the country.
This was an excellent spectacle with both teams playing a few flowing, high intensity game. The South Africans proved just too strong in the end with the game finishing 24-12 to the visitors.
Blue Crane opened the scoring early in the game with a finely taken try whilst the Munster boys hit back soon after. The teams again traded tries but the visitors scored two more tries in the last quarter of the game to close it out.
The Munster cadet programme reconvenes in 2 weeks after a break after the summer development programme. The players will now be invited into centre skill sessions and collective alignment sessions over the season. The coach development officers will be leading the programme regionally to further enhance the players core skills of the game.
Munster Rugby would like to thank CIT for hosting the U16 games.
