Munster U17 Development Squad Meet Italians

The Munster U17 Development squad took on a travelling Italian side yesterday at Rockwell College.

The Munster side have recently commenced their eight week summer programme in their respective sub regions where they have two on-pitch and gym sessions as part of their scheduled training.

Every Wednesday the players also come together in Rockwell College along with the Munster Schools U17 Development squad. Both sides train along with the Munster U18 club and school sides who are currently taking part in the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Talent Camp to prepare for their respective interprovincial series.

The U17 development programme is an essential development process for these young players and has proven to be a valuable pathway for next season’s Munster U18 Club and School squads.

The East Munster Cadets (Year 1) also played their Italian counterparts before the Munster U17's fixture and this proved to be a very competitive and worthwhile match for all involved. This precedes an upcoming match against the Leinster Midlands in the coming weeks followed by the Round Robin Series which will conclude the Summer Programme.

Munster Rugby would like to thank Rockwell College for the use of their facilities on the day.
