The Munster U18 Girls 7s and U16 Girls 7s squads are finalising their preparations ahead of this weekend’s IRFU Interprovincial series.

The IRFU High Performance Centre will host a full series of Interpro 7s in both age grades on Saturday April 23rd and Saturday April 30th.

The Interprovincial 7s makes a welcome return and this year will be the first time there is a formalised U16 Girls competition at interprovincial level.

Munster will field two teams in each age group with approximately 25 players from throughout the province selected for each age group.

The Munster Rugby Girls 7s programme puts a strong emphasis on skill development which is implemented in training and equally as important, the players get more of an opportunity to execute these skills in a match setting which will further their development whether that be in the 7s or 15s game in the future.

Providing a fun environment and setting is also one of the cornerstones of the programme with player retention being of huge importance.

Collective training sessions have taken place over the last number of months throughout the province in preparation for the upcoming tournament.
