Munster U18 Schools Come Up Short In Brave Leinster Battle

The Munster U18 Schools suffered a 34-22 defeat to Leinster at Donnybrook in today’s opening Interprovincial match of 2017.
It was just 1 minute into the game before the hosts claimed a converted try to open the scoreboard.
Three minutes later Munster centre John Hurley crossed the whitewash however out-half Ryan O’Sullivan failed to convert to level the match.
A second converted try followed for Leinster on the 21st minute however, once again, the visitors were quick to reply with Captain Cian Hurley touching down. This time O’Sullivan made no mistake to add the extras.
In superb conditions Leinster soon claimed a penalty bringing their lead to 17-12 at the break.
The second half kicked off with an early penalty to Leinster extending their advantage to 20-12. Munster substitute out-half Jack Delaney soon replied narrowing the gap to 20-15.
Twelve minutes into the second half Leinster scored their third converted try giving them a 27-15 lead.
Once again, Munster responded quickly with an impressive try from Jamin Hoffman with Delaney converting.
The final score was credited to Leinster who touched down with 10 minutes to go finishing up 34-22 to the hosts.
