Munster U20’s Take on Leeds

16th August 2007 By Munster Rugby

The Munster U20’s Squad, sponsored by Toyota, will travel to Leeds this Friday ahead of their game against Leeds Academy on Saturday at 3pm.

This is the first of two warm up games for the Munster U20’s as they prepare for the forthcoming U20 Interprovincial Series. They face UL Bohemians Senior team in their second warm up game on Saturday the 25th August in Annacotty, Limerick (kick off 12pm).

The U20 squad has been in training since the end of June under Manager Alan Miller and Coaches Hamish Adams and Ian Costello. The initial group of 40 players was cut down to a squad of 26 ahead of this weekend’s game.
The U20’s Interprovincial Championship kicks off at the end of August and will run through to the end of September. This is a huge opportunity for up and coming Munster players as they get a chance to contest for places in the Irish U20’s squad and the Munster Rugby Academy.

Hamish Adams, Munster Rugby Academy Manager commented on the importance of the U20’s Interprovincial Championship saying "This U20’s Interpro campaign is a fantastic opportunity for any outstanding young players to stake a claim for the development of their professional career with Munster Rugby through the Academy and Irish U20’s National Honours".
