Munster Women’s Team Named Ahead of Ulster Clash

Munster Women’s coach Donal O’Driscoll has named his twenty two ahead of their opening Interprovincial tie against Ulster in Fermoy RFC on Saturday. (kick off 2.30pm

The side includes "young guns" Sandra Williams from Nenagh Ormond on the wing, who has made a huge impression at U21 level in recent years, and nineteen year old outhalf Nicole Fitzgerald from UL Bohemians, who won her first Irish cap earlier this year. Munster Women’s Player of the Year Paula O’Connor takes the No.8 berth. Captaining the side on Saturday is Highfield’s Marie Barrett, who has been a regular on the Irish team in recent years.

Under the new coaching partnership of Donal O’Driscoll (Ballincollig) and Fiona Steed (Ireland’s most capped female player), the side also includes two inter-county footballers- Niamh Briggs (Waterford) and Mairead Kelly (Cork).
