The day’s action kicks off with the Under 16 final which is an all East Munster Waterford derby clash between Waterpark, virtually always in contention at this stage, and first time finalists Dungarvan. Waterpark qualified for the final with a 16-0 victory over Bantry Bay on Sunday, to whom they had lost to in the group stages earlier in the season, and the Ballinakill side will be look to out-half Alex Molloy to guide them to victory. Molloy scored all of his sides points in their semi-final last weekend and will be key to their attempts to bring a Pan Munster trophy back to Ballinakill for the first time since 2011 when Waterpark won the double at Under 17/19 levels.

Dungarvan qualified for Saturday’s game the weekend before last with a hard fought one point away victory over North Munster champions Bruff. Tries from Eoin Halford and captain Louis Morgan combined with an early penalty from Neil Montgomery earned Dungarvan their place in Saturdays final. A first Munster Underage final awaits for the club and a large crowd is expected to travel from the county Waterford town.

In the Under 18 Final that follows at 2pm Bruff are due to take on Young Munster. This will be a third competitive meeting between these two sides this season and while Bruff have won both encounters to date it is hard to predict a similar outcome on Saturday. The two previous encounters between the sides this season were both won by very narrow margins something that implies we are set for an exciting contest on Saturday afternoon. Bruff come into Saturday’s final unbeaten in the Pan Munster competition and may be slight favourites as a result. However Young Munster will be a very tough opponent and after a resounding semi-final victory over a fancied Tralee side they will ensure the game goes right down to the final whistle.
