Munster Youths Quarter-Finals This Weekend
13th March 2015 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Youths competitions have reached the quarter-final stage with seven crucial clashes taking place this weekend at U-18 and U-16 level.
The U-18 action kicks off at 12pm tomorrow as Highfield host Bruff at Woodleigh Park. Highfield go into the game in fine form having won all three of their group clashes against Kinsale, North Kerry and Young Munster.
The Cork side can also boast of an Irish international in their ranks with prop Ian McCarthy recently featuring the Ireland U-18 Clubs side.
Bruff finished second in their five-team group behind Waterpark and are led by McCarthy's Ireland U-18 team-mate Dylan Reeves Wasik, who also captained the Munster U-18 Clubs side this season.
Waterpark's reward for topping their group is a home tie with Kinsale at Ballinakill, which kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday.
The U-18 action continues on Sunday as Newcastle West host Cashel at 12pm with Dolphin facing Dungarvan in Mahon at 12.30pm.
Three of the four quarter-finals at U-16 level will be played this weekend. Skibbereen face Ennis in West Cork tomorrow at 12.30pm.
Sunday sees Bruff face Clonakilty in Kilballyowen Park at 12.30pm and the weekend's action concludes as Muskerry, who won the Munster and All Ireland titles at this level ten years ago, are away to Young Munster in Clifford Park at 1pm.
