Munster Youths Semi-Finals This Weekend

Three of the four semi finals in the Munster Youths competitions are down for decision this weekend.
Dolphin and Newcastle West-Estuary get things underway in Cork on Saturday in the semi-final of the U-18 League competition.
The Cork side had to battle hard last week for their 20-16 quarter final victory against Dungarvan. Cameron O’Shaughnessy and Timmy Sheehan were Dolphin’s try scorers and O’Shaughnessy kicked two conversions and two penalties.
Newcastle West-Estuary saw off the challenge of Cashel with a 27-12 victory. They scored four tries with Sean Murphy getting two and Mark Broderick and Tom Daly also crossed the try line. Sean Ivess kicked two conversions and a penalty.
The other semi-final sees Bruff taking on Waterpark at Kilballyowen Park. These sides met in the group stages already with Waterpark coming out on top 14-10.
Bruff were in devastating form last week when they brushed aside the challenge of Highfield in Cork 32-14. Kevin McManus contributed a try, penalty and two conversions to his side’s tally and Matthew O’Dea (2), Dylan Reeves Wasik and Jack O’Grady were the other try scorers.
Waterpark defeated Kinsale 32-13 in their quarter-final at Ballinakill. Dave Murphy, James Kiersey, Tom Swift and Jack Walsh scored tries for Waterpark and Alex Molloy kicked two penalties and two conversions. Cian Hogan also added a conversion.
The first semi-final of the Munster Youths U-16 League will be played at Tom Clifford Park on Sunday when Young Munster host Bruff.
Young Munster defeated Muskerry last week 27-10, while Bruff were 17-8 home winners over Clonakilty, Jason Fitzgibbon, Mikey O’Grady and Jack O’Malley were the try scorers for Bruff and John Bateman kicked a conversion.
The last remaining quarter final is down for decision on Sunday when Waterpark will have home advantage against either Garryowen or Killarney.
