National School Blitz Day At Bantry
17th May 2016 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently held a National School Blitz at Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí & Gael Scoil.
Over 220 pupils representing surrounding national schools took part making up 20 teams competing in the one day event.
The tournament, coordinated by Bantry’s Community Rugby Officer Damien Hicks, provided three sections which included girls only, boys only and mixed.
All teams played three games each providing great entertainment with some fantastic rugby skills on display.
The players were a credit to their schools, demonstrating great sportsmanship at the end of every game as they lined up to shake hands with their opposition.
Munster rugby would like to thank the transition year students form Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí who did a great job officiating proceedings on the day.
Many thanks also to club members of Bantry Bay RFC who assisted on the day.
