Nenagh Ormond
caused a major shock in the opening game in the Limerick Charity Cup when a last minute try saw them book their place in next week’s quarter final with a trip to Coonagh to face Shannon.

Garryowen will be wondering how they lost this game as they led 15-0 at half time.

Jamie Gavin opened the scoring with a penalty after four minutes and Geoffrey Ryan followed up with a try which Gavin converted. Eddie Rossiter made it 15-0 with a second try after thirty minutes.

Eoin Gardner brought Nenagh into the tie with a try after a minute in the second half and Dan Fogarty converted.

A try by Neil Cronin which Gavin converted after fifty five minutes extended Garryowen’s advantage to 22-7.

It was all Nenagh in the final twenty minutes. Tries by Derek Corcoran and Jamie Quigley on 60 and 70 minutes, the later converted by Fogarty left three between the sides.

Peter O’Leary proved Nenagh’s hero with a try in the last minute.
