17th November 2017 By Leonard Allen
There was a big upset at the Markets Field as Nenagh Ormond won the Sporting Limerick Charity Cup for the first time with a 25-24 victory over Garryowen in a very exciting tie.
This is the first time in the ninety three years of the competition that the trophy has gone outside of Limerick.

A try from Andrew O’Byrne converted by Dave McCarthy restored Garryowen’s lead
A penalty from Clayton Stewart and a try by Ger O’Gorman which Stewart converted left Nenagh 15-12 ahead at half time.
A John Healy try converted by Stewart on 52 minutes extended Nenagh’s lead to 22-12.
Peadar Collins scored a Garryowen try on 61 minutes to leave five between the sides.
