New Club Development Resource for Clubs.
31st October 2008 By Munster Rugby
An excellent new information resource is now available to all rugby clubs.
The recently developed IRFU Club Development Manual provides advice and guidance for "off the field" issues such as Planning, Facility Development (Floodlighting, Artificial Pitches, Clubhouses and Weight Training Areas/Gyms), Development and Maintenance of Grass Pitches, Draft Club Safety Statements and Event Management. The Manual also highlights four individual case studies including Munster’s Clonmel RFC and the commendable off field developments they have achieved over recent years.
The manual has been produced in a Folder format consisting of individual booklets. This will allow new resource topics to be added over time and a second edition of booklets is currently being researched. The manual is now available for distribution to all Munster Clubs and will be a focal point for Clubs attending Club Development Workshops over the coming fortnight.
The objective of these workshops is to give Clubs the opportunity to meet individually with Branch Staff to discuss relevant issues such as Sports Capital Grants (Lotto), IRFU and Local Government Funding, Facilities Development (Floodlights, Natural and Artificial Pitches etc), IRFU Club Support Scheme and Development Planning.
