New Clubs Training Day At LIT

Munster Rugby recently held a training day for developing Under 15 and Under 18 girls’ teams throughout the province.

The day was held in Limerick Institute of Technology with approximately 100 girls in attendance. Players represented Kanturk, Newport, Garryowen, Bruff, Ballina/Killaloe and Clanwilliam rugby clubs who are currently establishing or re-establishing their age grade girls sections.

The focus on the day was catch pass and decision making with each of the teams playing games against each other to put into practice what they learned on the day.

The event was coached by Munster Rugby Development Officers Ray Gadsden, John O Neill, Andy Brace, Kenneth McNamara, Amanda Greensmith and Munster Senior Womens player Deirbhile Nic A Bhaird.

The day was very enjoyable for all players involved while club coaches made new contacts with a view to organising training sessions and games before the next day which will take place in February.

For further information please contact Women’s Development Officer Amanda Greensmith by emailing amandagreensmith@munsterrugby.ie
