New Scrum Trial Laws To Kick In

Dave McHugh, former international referee and IRFU Referee Development and Coaching Manager recently held a presentation to Munster coaches at Shannon RFC.

A total of 26 coaches from All Ireland League, Junior Clubs and Senior Schools were in attendance to discuss the New Scrum techniques which are on global trials this month.

The first Munster trial day will be on Friday evening, 16th August, in Musgrave Park when the Munster U19 side take on Italy U20’s which will be officiated by Dudley Philips (IRFU).

Other areas discussed on the evening included offside at kicks and open play, breakdown, maul and maul formation along with foul play.
