Newcastle West RFC Host Cornerstone Workshop

The Munster Rugby Development Department delivered a Catch/Pass & Tackle Technique Cornerstone Workshop at Newcastle West RFC last week with 18 coaches from Newcastle West and surrounding clubs in attendance.

A continuation of the Munster Rugby Cornerstone Workshop Series, the workshop aided coaches in their ability to coach tackle technique and catch/pass effectively.

An indoor presentation and outdoor practical session informed coaches of the key skills associated with catch/pass and tackle technique.

Munster Rugby Development Officers Euan Gee and Gerry Casey delivered both sessions while Newcastle West Director of Rugby Vinny O’Doherty facilitated the workshop as U16 club players participated in demonstrations.

The Munster Rugby Cornerstone Workshop Series focuses on the four cornerstones of catch/pass, decision-making, continuity, and tackle technique/defence.
