Next Week’s Fixtures

With the All Ireland Ulster Bank League taking a two week break, it is the Munster Junior League that dominates next weekend’s program.

Division One leaders Skibbereen travel to Rathcooney to face Old Christians and this is a game the west Cork side must win if they are to be serious contenders for the title. Old Christians are struggling at the moment and badly need points to move away from the relegation zone and they can be relied on to give a good account of themselves.

Second placed Richmond are away to Crosshaven and the home side after a poor start last week, got back to winning ways with that big away win over Clanwilliam. They will need another big performance if they are to stop the Limerick side’s drive towards a second title in three seasons.

Waterpark having lost narrowly last week away to Skibbereen, entertain the other unbeaten side in this Division Galbally. The County Limerick side playing in the top flight for the first time ever have acquitted themselves well but the home side know that another defeat would put a big dent on their promotion aspirations.

Kanturk who share joint third place with Galbally three points behind the leaders, travel to Tralee. The Kerry side are still looking for their first win of the season but will be boosted by last week’s away draw at Kilfeacle.

Clonmel also in contention are away to Cobh Pirates. The Tipperary side have fallen off the pace in recent weeks, while Cobh Pirates were very unlucky just to get a losing bonus point from their trip to Kanturk last week. The odds must be an away win but Cobh will not make it easy for the visitors.

St. Senan’s entertain Clanwilliam and after a few poor results recently the Clare side will be expected to pick up the points on their own patch.

Bottom side Thurles are at home to Kilfeacle in a Tipperary derby and the odds must be on an away win.

In Division Two leaders Mallow are at home to newly promoted Scariff. The Clare side recorded their first win last week with a bonus point win over Newport, but may have to give second best this time.

Presentation in second place put their unbeaten record on the line when they travel to Youghal. The east Cork side collected maximum points away to Bandon last week and could end last season’s Division Three champions unbeaten run and move ahead of them in the table.

St. Mary’s after their disappointing defeat last week by Newcastle West will hope to bounce back to winning ways with an away win over Ennis.

Newcastle West are at home to Killarney and both sides with one defeat already cannot afford another slip up, so this should be a keenly contested tie.

Muskerry entertain Kinsale and both sides have lost touch with the leaders in recent weeks and will want to halt the slide and get a victory.

Ballincollig who share bottom place with Newport are at home to Bandon and they will see this as a must win game.

Newport are away to Castleisland and with both sides still looking for their first win, the home side may shade this tie.

Killorglin who are leading the Third Division travel to Douglas confident that they can continue their impressive recent run with another bonus point win.

Dungarvan with four wins from four, face a difficult test when they travel to Abbeyfeale.

Carrick-on-Suir can be expected to continue their good run with a victory away to Shandon.

Fermoy who recorded their first win of the campaign last week will have their work cut out when they travel to Ballydavid to face Corca Dhuibhne.

Charleville in a mid table position will be looking to get maximum points from their trip to Kilrush to get their promotion challenge back on track.

In the other game it is a west Cork derby when Dunmanway entertain Bantry Bay.
