Nine Munster Players Named On Ireland U19 Squad

Ireland U19 Head Coach Colin McEntee has named a 35 player squad to face France U19 in two fixtures in April at Templeville Road, which includes nine Munster players.

Munster Academy players Jack Cullen and Greg O’Shea have been selected along with Steven McMahon, who scored two tries for the Munster Development Squad against Russian side Enisei-STM last Wednesday at Musgrave Park.

Ardscoil Rís full-back Stephen Fitzgerald has also been named along with fellow Limerick school player Ben Kilkenny from St. Munchin’s College.

Former Rockwell College hooker Sean McNulty has claimed his place along with Cork Con’s Gearoid Lyons and Christian Brothers College players Liam O’Connor and Mike O’Donnell.

16* members of the squad that were defeated by Australia Schools in December at Ravenhill are retained while 5† players took part in Ireland's U20s 2014 RBS 6 Nations campaign.

The first game against France U19 kicks off at 2.00pm on Thursday 17th April with the second game also getting underway at 2.00pm five days later on Tuesday 22nd April.

Both matches take place in St Mary's College RFC's ground at Templeville Road.

Ireland U19 coach Colin McEntee will be assisted by Nigel Carolan and Barney McGonigle will manage the side.
