Nuacht As Rugbaí Chorca Dhuibhne

Oíche stairiúil ab ea Dé hAoine seo caite don fhoireann fé 16 nuair a thugadar an bua leo in aghaidh Lios Tuathail agus Pláta Iarthar na Mumhan ag an gClub don ceathrú blian as a chéile.

Fé 16

3-0 a bhí ar chlár na scór ar deireadh ach ní léiríonn sé in aon chorr an iarracht, drámaíocht agus dúil a léirigh an dá fhoireann sa chluiche. Ba í an chosaint iontach a bhuaigh an cluiche le iarracht mhillteanach ón gCaptaen, Seán Ó Lúing, Dónal Hannafin agus Cian Cuffe. Bhí an mhír sheasta thar barr agus Jamie Granville, Max Kenendy, Patrick Martin agus Jeaic Ó Cinnéide Pender i gceannas san aer agus sa chlibirt. Ba tríd an mhír sheasta a tógadh an bua, le cic iontach ó Nathan Ó Flanúra ag cur brú mór ar lán chúlaí Lios Tuathail. Chuaigh an laithróid chun cinn agus tar éis brú iontach sa chlibirt tháinig an cic píonóis buacach a chuir Cian Cuffe idir na postaí go foirfe. Bhí cúpla deis ag Lios Tuathail an cluiche a bhuachaint, ach tré chosaint iontach, go háirithe ó Feargal Ó Caunaigh, Peter Paul Sauerland agus Shane Ó Conchúir, coimeadadh amuig iad, agus ghlac an Captaen, Seán Ó Lúing leis an gcupa, don tarna blian as a chéile.

Fé 14

Faraor níor éirigh leis an bhfoireann fé 14 an bheart a dhéanamh ina gcluiche siúd Dé hAoine seo caite, aineoinn imirt iontach, go háirithe ó Sheán Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich agus Darragh Mac Gearailt. Bhain Seán Breanndán úd slánaith amach rud a chuir Corca Dhuibhne chun cinn a 7-5 ach sa nóiméad deireannach bhris Lios Tuathail tríd sa chúinne agus sciobadar an cluiche leo aineoinn iarrachtaí olmhóra na lads.

Fé 15

D’fháiltigh RCD roimh fhoireann Chinner RFC ó Shasana a bhí ar chamchuairt ar an nDomhnach seo caite. Chuireadar taipeántas breá Rugbaí ar fáil ach b’iad foireann Shasana, a bhí cuid mhaith níos sinne ná ár gcuid imreoirí, a thug an lá leo, 25-14. Fuair Darragh Mac Gearailt agus Nathan Ó Flanúra úd an duine agus shlánaigh Ó Flanúra an dá cheann acu.

RCD Nuacht
Senior XV:

The Seniors travelled to Cork last Sunday to take on Dolphin RFC in the J2 South League. The game started badly with a soft Dolphin try following a Corca Dhuibhne mistake, this was however to be their last score of the day. In a brilliant attacking display the West Kerry side proceeded to run in six tries from Micheal Breathnach (2) Ciaran O Coileain, Mikey Flannery, Tip Delaney as well as a try and four conversions from Shane Griffin leaving the score Dolphin RFC 7 Rugbai Chorca Dhuibhne 43. The lads travel to Muskerry RFC next weekend, a win here will see them travel to Cork Con for another mouth-watering semi-final, the lads will have no fear following last week’s win.
U16’s

The under 16’s created history last Friday winning the West Munster Plate for a fourth consecutive year beating Listowel. The score line of 3-0 does not reflect the effort, drama and desire displayed by both sides in this game. It was a real brilliant defensive effort which won this game with Captain Sean O Luing, Donal Hannifin and Cian Cuffe putting in a huge shift. The Set piece was outstanding with Jamie Granville, Max Kennedy, Patrick Martin and Jeaic O Cinneide Pender dominating in both the air and in the scrum. It was the set piece which eventually won the game, a great kick by Nathan Flannery put the Listowel fullback under massive pressure, following a knock on huge pressure in the scrum led to the match winning penalty which Cian Cuff calmly slotted. Listowel had a number of chances to win the game, however heroic defence especially from Fearghal Cooney, Peter Paul Sauerland and Shane O’Conner kept them out and Captain Sean o Lunig accepted the cup and man of the match for a second year running.

U14’s

Unfortunately the u14’s couldn’t repeat the heroics of the u16’s in the second game last Friday, Despite a great performance especially from Sean Breandain O Beaglaoich and Daragh Fitzgerald. Sean Breandain scored a converted try which put the lads 7-5 up but in the final minute of the game Listowel broke out and finished in the corner to steal the game despite the lad’s heroic efforts.

U15’s

The under 15’s entertained English Touring side Chinner RFC last Sunday, in a very entertaining game the older English boys ran out 25-14 winners. Daragh Fitzgerald and Nathan Flannery scored the tries with Flannery converting both.
