Old Crescent Promoted From Division 2C

With the final series of games in Division 2 of the Ulster Bank League down for decision next week, Old Crescent have assured themselves a place in Division 2B next season as the play offs and relegation places become clearer.
Old Crescent travelled to Navan and assured themselves promotion with a 31-10 victory as second placed Tullamore lost at home to Bruff.
Old Crescent led 14-10 at half time with Larry Hanly scoring three tries and three conversions. Gareth Quinn McDonogh and Sean Monaghan were Crescent’s other try scorers.
At Tullamore Bruff came from behind to defeat the home side 9-8 with Declan Bannon kicking three penalties for the visitors.
Midleton’s promotion hopes ended in Dundalk when they lost 16-15 at Mill Road.
Kanturk are still not clear of relegation after losing at home to Sligo 23-20. Conor Cremin, Johnny O’Sullivan and Daithi Fitzpatrick scored tries for Kanturk and Stephen McAuliffe kicked a conversion and a penalty.
Cork Constitution moved into third place in Division 1A after their 35-17 home win over Terenure College. Tries from Conor Kindregan and Niall Kenneally, both converted by Tomas Quinlan and a penalty from the Con’ out half had them 17-10 ahead at half time.
A penalty try and a Quinlan try, conversion and two penalties saw Con’ take the spoils.
U.C.C. who slipped to fifth place last night in Division 2A after the Tipperary derby have now moved four points ahead of both Nenagh Ormond and Cashel with a 32-5 away win over Skerries. Chris McAuliffe, Conor Barry, Kevin Slater and Charlie O’Regan all scored tries for the students. Kevin O’Keeffe kicked two conversions and a penalty and Tim Clifford added a conversion and a penalty.
Thomond lost at home to Queen’s University 54-5 with Dean O’Brien scoring their try. Thomond are now relegated to Division 2B next season.
City of Derry despite losing 20-19 away to Bective Rangers have gone one point clear of Highfield and Sunday’s Well in Division 2B.
