Opening Defeat To Munster U18 Clubs

The Munster U18 Club side suffered a disappointing defeat to travelling side Connacht yesterday at Highfield RFC in their opening interprovincial fixture.

Munster 6 Connacht 14

Munster’s Fionn McGibney from Garryowen FC opened the score from a penalty, however a converted try in the 30th minute from Connacht’s Fintan Murphy put the visitors in front.

A second successful penalty kick from McGibney brought Munster 6-7 going into the break.

On the 60th minute winger Paddy Glavey got over the Munster line for Connacht’s second try with Michael Green adding the extras.

Munster’s second fixture of their interprovincial series is away to Ulster next Saturday, 29th September, in Ravenhill ko 1.30pm.
