Other Sporting Influences

In recent years Strength and Conditioning departments have been looking beyond the traditional methods of rugby training and going further afield in developing and incorporating new training practices asides from the typical rugby session.

Last summer saw the Munster senior side take part in mixed martial arts sessions during their pre-season programme as an innovative and diverse way to master grappling techniques key to the breakdown.

Following in this trend Munster Rugby in association with Cork City Judo are running a seminar hosted by Neil Adams MBE, Olympic Medalist and former World Judo Champion.

Given his experience in working with the Welsh National rugby team, Adams will focus on discipline in sport along will balance techniques and creating imbalance in contact sports based on the principles of judo techniques.

The seminar will be held at PBC, Mardyke, Cork, on Friday, 25th January from 6.30 to 8.30pm for a fee of €;5 per person. To register or for further details please email keithmurphy@munsterrugby.ie
