PBC Take Over Top Spot In Bowen Shield

Presentation Brothers College moved into first place in the Bowen Shield for at least twenty four hours after their big win over Bandon Grammar at Wilton. Crescent College Comprehensive can go back top if they win their game against Ard Scoil Ris on Thursday 20th.
Pres’ ran in ten tries in their 64-0 victory over Bandon Grammar. Eoin Perry and Paddy Hegarty scored two tries each for the winners and Ben Murphy, Jerry Roche, David St. Ledger, Michael Murphy, Stephen McCarthy and Cian Stanton each got one apiece. Conor Flanagan converted seven of the tries.
Rockwell defeated Glenstal Abbey 36-15 at Murroe. Aidan Moynihan was Rockwell’s top scorer with a try, penalty and four conversions. Cian Flavin, Cormac Looby, Steve McMahon and Liam Casey each crossed the line for a try for the winners.
C.B.C. moved ahead of Castletroy College in the table after their 26-14 victory over the Limerick side at Lansdowne. Thomas Quinlan scored two tries and two penalties for the winners, Mickey Fielding kicked a conversion and penalty and David Dempsey also scored a try. Mark McCarthy replied with two tries for Castletroy and Paul Butler converted both.
Ard Scoil Ris remain top of the McCarthy Cup after their 38-18 home win over Crescent College Comprehensive. Jerry McCabe scored three tries for the winners and Pierce Lyons and Jack O’Donnell got one each. Peadar Collins kicked four conversions and a penalty and Conor Fitzgerald added a conversion. Glen Dickinson scored two tries for Crescent and Jason Barry one. Cian Clifford kicked a penalty.
Rockwell and Christians joined Crescent in second place. Rockwell defeated Glenstal Abbey 24-7. Darren Fehilly scored two tries for Rockwell and Jack Kennedy and Lee Molloy got one each. Bill Johnston kicked two conversions.
Christians defeated Castletroy College 26-17. Alex McHenry, Ben O’Callaghan, Eoin Cahill and Fergus Hennessy scored tries for the winners and Michael O’Halloran kicked three conversions. Niall O’Shea and Sean McBrearty replied with tries for Castletroy.
P.B.C. moved into one of the qualifying places with a 24-10 victory over Bandon Grammar at Wilton. Colin Eustace scored two tries for the Mardyke College and Eoin O’Shea and Con’ Duggan got one each. Harry Shanahan kicked two conversions.
Scoil Muire Gan Smal from Blarney played their first ever schools Cup rugby game at Ballyanly but were no match for Colaiste Muire Crosshaven who defeated them 37-7 in the King Cup. Eddie Joe Ryan had the distinction of scoring the Blarney schools first ever try and Kyle O’Callaghan converted. Jordan Fahy replied with three tries for the Crosshaven School and Sam Murphy, Brian Scriven and Shane Bushe got one each. Murphy kicked two conversions and a penalty.
