PBC To Defend Title Against CBC In McCarthy Cup Final

Holders PBC will defend their McCarthy Cup title against local rivals CBC on Wednesday, 2nd December at Irish Independent Park (kick-off 2.30pm).

PBC, who topped the league section, kept their 100% record last week in their semi final against Rockwell College sealing a final place with a 22 – 7 win in Wilton, Cork.

Their neighbours, CBC, overcame Crescent College in their semi final which was decided by a penalty shootout. The game finished 0 – 0 in Raheen, which meant that the tie had to be settled on penalties. The Cork side held their nerve and booked a place in the final in what promises to be a very close affair.

The McCarthy Cup B Final also features CBC and PBC in Wilton on Thursday, 3rd December at 2.20pm.

CBC will also contest in the Bowen Shield final taking on Bandon Grammar School for the title at Irish Independent Park on Wednesday, 9th December at 2.30pm.
