Play Rugby At Kilgobnet National School
19th June 2014 By Munster Rugby
Kilgobnet National School, Killorglin, Co. Kerry is the latest school to have taken part in a six week IRFU "Play Rugby" programme.
The national school pupils have enjoyed developing basic rugby skills coached by Ray Gadsden, Munster Community Rugby Officer for the Kerry region.
On completion of the course the players received their Play Rugby Packs which consisted of rugby balls, cones, tag belts, tags, bibs and a play rugby guide to tag rugby to assist school teachers in running future tag rugby events at the school.
The programme encourages the effective development of non-contact mini rugby through schools by providing them with the necessary equipment and coach education.
School teachers are encouraged to continue with this initiative and assist with the development of rugby at primary school level.
