Play Rugby At Presentation Monastery School
16th December 2015 By Munster Rugby
The fourth and sixth class boys from Presentation Monastery National School in Killarney recently participated in the ‘Play Rugby’ programme at their school grounds.
The students played their fellow class mates in a number of games over the day learning new skills and rugby techniques along the way.
At the end of the session each school received a 'Play Rugby Pack' consisting of cones, balls and bibs.
The 'Play Rugby' programme encourages the effective development of non-contact mini rugby through schools by providing them with the necessary equipment and coach education.
Since the introduction of the 'Play Rugby' initiative boys and girls throughout the country have learned rugby techniques that include running and evasion, passing and tagging and it is hoped they will continue to play rugby at their local rugby clubs.
School teachers are encouraged to continue with this initiative and assist with the development of rugby at primary school level.
On completion of the course, the school will be presented with a 'Play Rugby' equipment pack which contains six rugby balls, cones, bibs, games and much more.
