Play Rugby Comes To St. Oliver’s NS

Pupils from St. Oliver’s National School, Killarney, recently took part in the IRFU ‘Play Rugby’ Programme at the school grounds.

The day was coordinated by Denis Corridan, Killarney Club Community Rugby Officer, to help promote the Munster Rugby Killarney Summer Camp taking place on the week 21st to 25th July 2014.

The objective of 'Play Rugby' is to introduce the sport to young players and encourage them to keep fit while having fun.

This form of rugby simulates mini rugby without the contact element which makes it ideal for young people starting out in the game.

The players received their Play Rugby Packs which consisted of rugby balls, cones, tag belts, tags, bibs and a play rugby guide to tag rugby to assist school teachers in running future tag rugby events at the school.
Players are encouraged to continue developing their skills at their local rugby club as part of Munster Rugby’s player recruitment process.
