Preparation is underway for Munster’s age-grade representative squads as they begin their respective summer programmes with Interprovincial fixtures set to take place in August.
In April, a pre-season period took place for players on the boys’ U19s, U18 Schools, U18 Clubs, U17 Schools and U17 Clubs squads.
These players are currently at the end of a four-week remote block which involves custom strength and conditioning and skills programmes.
Once this period is completed, the squads will begin training together in different centres in the province, alternating between bases in Limerick and Cork.
There will also be two weeks of residential training for the U19s and U18s squads where the players will stay overnight in UL.
The U16s will being their summer programme in July.
The Munster U18 Girls squad will also begin their preparations in July and their Interprovincial series will take place in August. There is also a residential element for the U18 Girls squad where they will stay overnight in UL during their programme.
The U17 Girls squad are currently in their second week of training and they will train with the U18 Girls squad until the end of July.
The girls squads have had plenty of good preparation in recent weeks with many players involved in the Sevens programme while others have been involved in the front-five programme.
Fixture details, squad information and coaching details for the respective squads will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
