Over the past two weekends the Munster Under 18 Girls took on Canadian side, the British Columbia U18’s, as part of their preparation for the upcoming Interprovincial Series which gets underway this coming September.

Railway Union RFC hosted the first of the two challenge matches finishing up 22-10 to the Canadians in what was a great display of running rugby from both sides.

Two impressive trys came from Munster with centre Stephanie Nunan and out-half Emily Lane touching down from open play.

The sides met for the second time the following week at Shannon RFC, with the Canadian side again claiming victory with a 26-17 scoreline in what was a very tight encounter throughout.

Tries came from forwards Orla Curtain, Sarah O’Connor and Rebecca Reilly with a conversion off the boot of Muirne Wall adding to the Munster scoring tally.

The squad have been training throughout the summer every Monday and Wednesday at Ballincollig RFC with Saturday sessions shared around the province.
