PBC prevailed in their replayed fixture against St Munchin's earlier today at Irish Independent Park
The first half of this match-up was both tight and tense and it would take thirty minutes before either team made a breakthrough.
Following a period of Munchin's dominance, PBC made their sparse possession count when centre Michael Hand breached the Limerick side's defense to nudge his side in front at the break.
Upon the teams' return to play, Pres picked up from where they let off as scrumhalf Joe O'Leary made the most of some imposing play by his pack to crash over for a try. Alex Walsh split the posts with his conversion attempt. 14-0.
Ten minutes later Munchin's were handed a lifeline. Foul play at the ruck by PBC flanker Richie Foley cost him a yellow card and granted the visitors a penalty in prime position. Without hesitation, Munchin's took the tap and go, spread the ball through the hands and found substitute winger Conor O'Shaughnessy free on the left flank to get themselves back into the contest.
At 14-5, PBC recognized the importance of pushing on out of Munchin's reach and they nearly did just that when winger Jeff Holden made a dash all the way down the left touchline, only to be dragged into touch five out from the opposition try line. However, Munchin's lineout malfunctioned at this crucial moment of the match and PBC flanker Richie Foley pounced to score – putting the result beyond any doubt.
