Provincial Development Manager, Munster
This role is an integral part of Munster rugby operations and the successful applicant will lead a team of 30 Development Officers, employed throughout the province, working on the development, promotion and growth of the game of rugby in Munster.
Reporting to Ultan O’Callaghan, The Provincial Domestic Games Manager and working closely with branch committees the successful candidate will be responsible for;
Delivering of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set out in the Munster and IRFU Service Level Agreement.
Managing and achieving targets on all Munster programmes.
Working with schools / clubs within the province to develop all facets of game of rugby, whilst promoting it in a positive, safe and healthy manner.
Managing the day-to-day work programme of the Provincial Munster Rugby Development staff.
Overseeing and assisting in organising in coaching courses and player clinics within the Province.
Implementing club development plan workshops.
Attending seminars and coaching courses as directed.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
A strong academic background
Previous experience in a similar working environment.
Strong communication, leadership and presentation capability.
Positive and proactive approach to developing rugby.
People Management; proven ability in managing staff and HR issues on a day to day basis including recruiting, motivating, developing and disciplining staff where appropriate to optimise performance of the team.
Financial Management; Good financial management and budgeting skills.
Experience of structured reporting and weekly/monthly staff meetings to provide direction and accountability within the team.
Personal traits; decisive, organised, highly motivated by targets, a leader who prefers respect to popularity.
Performance Measures
Delivering the KPI’s
Effective Management of your team and developing the team.
Gaining the respect of the key people involved i.e. PDGM, The Committees and within the clubs, schools etc.
Efficient reporting to PDGM.
