Thomond extended their lead at the top of Division 1 of the Munster Junior League, as Old Christians draw level with Clanwilliam in Division 2 and Corca Dhuibhne are the new leaders in the Thrd Division.

Defending Champions Thomond continued their impressive start with another bonus point victory, this time they defeated Mallow 29-10 at Liam Fitzgerald Park. Joshua Dillon, Dean O’Brien, Aidan Quinlivan and Tommy Hourigan were the Thomond try scorers. Jason Kiely kicked three conversions and a penalty. Mallow replied with a try from Sean O’Riordan and Hunter Cowan converted and also added a penalty.

Bandon are now two points behind the leaders after they failed to secure a losing bonus point in their 20-6 home win against Muskerry. Hugh O’Mahony scored a try, two conversions and two penalties of Bandon’s tally with Tadhg Galvin also scoring a try. Rob Cahill replied with two penalties for the visitors.

Kilfeacle remain in third place after they won a thirteen try thriller defeating Crosshaven 46-37 at the Tipperary venue. Killian Noonan scored three of Kilfeacle’s eight tries. Luke Hueston got two and Michael McCormack, Jacques van Wyngardt and Beau Walker got one each. Heuston kicked three conversions. Crosshaven replied with two tries from Jason Brady and one each by Sa’id Koya, Fergal Conway and Patrick Cotter. Kealan Daly kicked three conversions and two penalties.

Sunday’s Well moved up to fourth with a 36-7 home win against Newcastle West. Mariano Cosimi, Andrew Mintern, Fabien Loughry and two from Alex Lane were the Well try scorers. Ciaran Maguire kicked four conversions and a penalty. Sean Murphy replied with a try for Newcastle West and James Guina converted.

Bottom of the table Thurles caused a surprise at Grove Island defeating St. Mary’s 24-21. The Tipperary side led 17-7 at half time and had tries from James O’Mara, Matt Kelly, John Flanagan and John Shaw. Flanagan kicked two conversions. Paul Loughran replied with two tries for the Saints and Keith Hyland got one. Adam Guerin converted all three tries.

A late try by Nigel Clancy converted by Brian Mullins saw Richmond snatch a 21-17 victory away to Kanturk. Lee Bennett and Ross Wall were Richmond’s other try scorers and Mullins and Jack Cross ech kicked a conversion. Sean O’Brien and Dylan Moynihan replied with tries for Kanturk and Paul O’Keeffe converted both and also added a penalty.

Skibbereen won the West Cork derby 15-12 at home to Clonakilty. David Shannon and Jonathan Benn were the Skibb try scorers and Shannon kicked a conversion and a penalty. Cian Downey and henry Miles replied with tries for Clon; and Rob Howick added a conversion.

Clanwilliam and Old Christians share top spot in Division 2, with Ballincollig four points behind.

Clanwilliam defeated Waterpark 27-13 but failed to secure a four point try bonus point. Ben Downey, Gavin Downey, and Niall Sharpe scored tries for Clanwilliam. Niall Leahy converted all three tries and also added two penalties. Gary Walsh and Dylan Coady replied with tries for Waterpark and Ben Daly kicked a penalty.

Old Christians defeated Ennis 39-17 with tries from Dan Kelleher, Cian Walsh, John Marnell, Dave Aherne, Ivan Tripp and Oscar Clarke. Marnell kicked three conversions and Mike O’Sullivan added a drop goal.

Ballincollig defeated Charleville 45-20 to maintain their challenge. Diarmuid Phelan got three tries, a penalty and six conversions. Rory Kiely, Dion Burke and Liam McGarry got a try each. Charleville replied with tries from Jack Barrett, Liam Barrett and Darragh Brown. Kian Smith kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Kinsale defeated bottom side Fermoy 34-15 with Dave Looney getting three tries, Erhan Farley, Dan Graham and Evan O’Riordan got one each. Dylan Lacey kicked two conversions. Ben McCarthy and Alan Ross replied with tries for Fermoy and Eoin Lacey added a penalty and a conversion.

St. Senan’s defeated Fethard 37-12 at the Tipperary venue. Jamie McNamara (3), Craig Riordan (2), Brian Collins and David Flynn were the Senan’s try scorers, and Craig Airy kicked a conversion. Willie Ruttle and David Marshall scored tries for Fethard and Peter Wall added a conversion.

Cobh Pirates defeated Tralee 24-12 with tries from Killian O’Connell, Ben Kennedy, Adam Devlin and George Rasmussen. Billy Caine kicked two conversions. Tralee were awarded a penalty try and Ronan O’Sullivan also scored a try.

Abbeyfeale defeated Castleisland 24-17 in their local derby with Jamie O’Sullivan scoring two tries for the winners and Jack Quirke and Jack O’Sullivan also got tries. Caomhin Barrett kicked two conversions. Castleisland replied with tries from Donal Geaney and Mike Cronin. Joe Sheehy converted both and also added a penalty.

Division 3 Leaders Youghal’s home game with Killorglin was postponed, so Corca Dhuibhne are the new leaders in this Division after their 35-12 home win against Douglas. Gearoid Breathnach scored three tries and Brian Ó Murchú and Kentin Bouyer got one each. Deividas Uosis kicked four conversions and Odhran Ó Slattaire one.

Carrick-on-Suir moved up to third with a 29-14 away win against Ardscoil Old Boys. Cian Walsh, Jack O’Connell, Tom Reid and Ronan O’Connell scored tries for Carrick’ and Fionn Barry converted three and also kicked a penalty. Jamie Moore replied with two tries and also converted both for the home side.

Killarney defeated Waterford City 22-11 with two tries from Diarmuid Carr and one by Stephen Dalton. Donnchadh Grealy kicked two conversions and a penalty. Aaron Smith replied with a try for Waterford. Mikey O’Connor kicked two penalties.

Galbally-Mitchelstown got their first win of the season with a 20-17 home win against Scariff. Jack Donovan and Evan Dunne scored tries for the winners and Pa Shanahan converted both and also added two penalties.  Donal Moriarty, Paul O’Sullivan and Ciaran Quinn replied with tries for Scariff and Marc Loughran kicked one conversion.
