Rep Squads Military Training.
9th August 2011 By Munster Rugby
The Munster U20, U19 (x2), U18 School and U18 Youth squads recently participated in a team building exercise in Cratloe Woods, Co Clare.
All squads were put to their paces under the direction of Limerick Military personnel as added preparation for the interprovincial series which will commence this September.
The programme required each squad to be put into teams of three where they competed against each other. Players were instructed to orienteer their way through an eight kilometer forest while carrying heavy loads as part of the day long exercise.
Squad managers and coaches were delighted with the outcome of this alternative training module which enabled them to see how well the individual players performed under pressurised situations.
Many players demonstrated great leadership qualities and as a result put themselves in contention to captain their respective teams.
The interpro series will commence this September with Munster's home fixtures in Cork and Limerick.
