Christian Brothers College 50 – 7 Castletroy College

An octuplet of tries, three of which came from the hands of hooker Darragh Prenter, all but secured Christian Brothers College’s faith as they advance to the Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup semi-finals.

The Sidney Hill natives shot out of the gates from the off as Prenter crashed over for his first try in the very first minute of play. Charlie O’Shea nailed the touchline conversion that followed.

CBC were in again through winger Daire O’Callaghan in both the 7th and 11th minute to put the side 19-0 ahead

Charlie O’Shea earned a try of his own in the 24th minute but sent the conversion just wide.

Castletroy scored their only try of the game just before the break as Trevor Tchokotieu picked and went from the bottom of a ruck just millimetres from the line with Liam Glynn on hand to add the extras.

But CBC were quick to respond as they were in again for their fifth try of the afternoon in the 35th minute as Jack O’Callaghan found the whitewash. Charlie O’Shea added the two putting the Cork natives 31-7 ahead at half time.

The Leesiders took charge once again in the second half with two more tries from Prenter and a second for Jack O’Callaghan. Two out of the three conversions were nailed and the game finished 50-7 in Christians favour.

CBC will have a bit of a wait to find out who their semi-final opponents while Castletroy will meet either Ardscoil Ris or St Munchins in the quarter finals.
