Rockwell Edge Out Crescent College In Schools Junior Cup Semi-Final

Rockwell secured their place in the Munster Schools Junior Cup final.

It is a Rockwell College v St Munchin’s Clayton Hotels Schools Munster Junior Cup final after Rockwell came from behind to win the second semi-final by a narrow 14-13 margin against Crescent College Comprehensive at Thomond Park.

Rockwell raced into an early 7-3 lead with a try from winger Darius Achimugu which Rory Collins converted. Conor O’Halloran kicked a penalty for Crescent.

Tries from Joe McMahon and Conal Henchy gave the Limerick side a 13-7 interval lead.

The second-half produced only one score and that came in the 47th minute when Henry Buttimer touched down and Collins converted to give Rockwell a one point lead, which they held to the finish.

Rockwell will face St Munchin’s in the final of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup come Wednesday 27 March.
