Rockwell Into Schools Senior Cup Final

Rockwell College have beaten Glenstal Abbey 22-3 to progress to the final of the SEAT Schools Senior Cup where they will meet Ardscoil Rãs on March 17.

Out-half Bill Johnston kicked Rockwell into a 6-3 lead at the interval after a very tight first half with Jack Stafford replying for Glenstal.

Lee Molloy (below) scored a try early in the second half to increase the Rockwell lead to eight and, after withstanding a fierce period of Glenstal pressure, Johnston kicked his third penalty to make it 14-3 on 52 minutes.
A fourth penalty from the ever-reliable Johnston pushed Rockwell 14 points ahead on 58 minutes and the tie was wrapped up with a second try from Bryan McLaughlin late on.
