The newly-formed team, made up of club players from across the province, have made an impressive start to the competition defeating Ardscoil Rís 31-29 in their first encounter of the round-robin series.

Munster CSP went on to claim a 38-12 victory over Bandon Grammar School at Irish Independent Park in last week’s second round of fixtures to secure their place at the top of Group A.

Castletroy College and Presentation Brothers College drew 0-0 in the second round of games in Group A while Crescent College Comprehensive and Christian Brothers College defeated Glenstal Abbey (5-22) and St Munchin’s (11-19) respectively in Group B.

Crescent CC sit top of Group B after their opening victory over St Munchin’s (22-7) combined with their win against Glenstal to make it two from two.

In the Junior Cup competition, Ardscoil Rís edged out Castletroy College 8-0 and are currently top of Group A.
