Round-Up | Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior & Junior Cup

The second round of the Schools Senior Cup takes places tomorrow. INPHO.

It’s been another busy week of schools action in the group stages of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup competitions.

In Group A of the Senior Cup, Presentation Brothers College claimed a 28-17 victory over Munster CSP at Irish Independent Park to secure second position in the table.

Munster CSP, a newly-formed team made up of club players from across the province, are still top of Group A as a result of earlier wins over Bandon Grammar School and Ardscoil Rís.

Bandon Grammar School defeated Ardscoil Rís 12-8 at home in the other game in Group A.

In Group B, Crescent College Comprehensive drew 3-3 with Rockwell College and remain in top spot following victory over Glenstal Abbey and St. Munchin’s in the earlier rounds.

In Group A of the Junior Cup, Ardscoil Rís pushed past Crescent College Comprehensive 13-3, extending their lead in the group after an opening round victory over Castletroy College.

St. Munchin’s and Castletroy College meet on Friday, November 8, in Corbally.

In Group B, Bandon Grammar School and Presentation Brothers College go head-to-head in Bandon on Saturday.

The other fixture in the group sees Glenstal Abbey host table-toppers Christian Brothers College.

The Cork College defeated both Presentation Brothers College and Rockwell College in the opening rounds.

The group stages of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup competitions kicked-off last month with a new-look format providing more games for schools ahead of the knock-out stages in January 2020.

Teams in both the Senior and Junior Cup competitions are divided into two groups, Group A and Group B, with the introduction of a Munster Club Select Player (CSP) side in Group A of the Senior competition.
