Rugby Blitz For Young Limerick Pupils

Up to 70 pupils from Christ of King in Carherdavin and John F Kennedy Memorial School on the Ennis Road in Limerick recently took part in a blitz at Thomond RFC.

The event was run by Munster Rugby Officer Kenneth McNamara with fellow officers Ed Daly and Andy Brace also present to help run the activities on the day.

Many of the students participating play with local clubs and those who were interested in joining a club received the contact details of the clubs in the Limerick region.

The Community Rugby Department at Munster Rugby is comprised of five Community Rugby Officers with each one responsible for a group of clubs, schools and colleges within an allocated geographic region.

It also includes a Women's Development Officer, Girls Participation Officer, Limerick Regeneration Officer and 12 part-time Club and Community Rugby Officers working in schools in conjunction with their respective clubs.

The primary role of the department is to increase participation across all areas of rugby throughout Munster. For more details, please email info@munsterrugby.ie.
