RWC Countdown: Getting To Know Niamh Kavanagh

The Ireland Women’s Squad are currently preparing for the much awaited Women’s Rugby World Cup 2014 in France which gets started on Friday, 1st August.
Ireland women are placed in Pool B with USA, defending Champions New Zealand and Kazakhstan.

Included in the World Cup squad is Munster’s Niamh Kavanagh who we caught up with in the build up to the championship.
Originally from Walsh Island in Co. Offaly, Niamh began her rugby career five years ago with UL Bohemian RFC while studying Law and Tax at the Limerick Institute of Technology.
At club level Niamh has won the Munster Cup, All Ireland League and All Ireland Cup and has also been capped for Munster on 9 occasions.
Niamh first appeared for Ireland during the 2011 Six Nations and proved she was a force to be reckoned with after scoring a try in each of her opening two games against France and Italy.
With a total of 15 international caps to date Niamh was also part of the Ireland women’s squad that claimed the historic Grand Slam title in 2013.
