St. Annes CC Killaloe 12 – 36 Sacred Heart Clonakilty
It was two for two for the West Cork side as they overcame 2023 winners St. Annes to retain their Pinergy Munster Schools Junior Cup Crown.
Much like their Junior outfit it was Sacred Heart that got scoring going in the first half with tries from Emer Moroney, Ella O’Sullivan and Sara O’Sullivan with Rachel Twomey kicking two out of the three conversions. With just 15 minutes having ticked by the West Cork side had given themselves a comfortable 0-19 lead.
St. Annes struck back in the 22nd minute with an unconverted try from Charlie Dillon.
But Clonakilty responded just six minutes later with a second try from speedster Ella O’Sullivan.
O’Sullivan was in for a third just before the half-time whistle to put the score at 5-29.
St Annes were in again in the 40th minute when scrum half Grace Dillion sniped in and over the line. Her sister Charlie nailed the conversion that followed.
But Sacred Heart weren’t finished as Clodagh McCarthy crashed over in the 62nd minute to seal the deal and the lucrative double-double for the West Cork side with a final score of 12-36.
