Shannon’s unbeaten run in Division 1B of the All Ireland League came to an end at Naas as Cork Constitution moved back into a top four place in Division 1A.
Cork Constitution travelled to Dubarry Park to face bottom side Buccaneers and came away winners on a 24-29 score line.
Shannon lost their unbeaten record going down 21-18 at Naas. The home side led 15-8 at half time and scored the winning penalty four minutes from time. Jack O’Donovan, a Ryan and Charlie Carmody scored tries for Shannon and Conor Fitzgerald kicked a penalty.
Old Wesley continued their battle away from the foot of the table with a 13-7 away win at U.L. against UL Bohemian. The visitors led 13-0 at half time and Bohes only reply was a try from Noel Kinnane which Robbie Burke converted.
Highfield are just a point behind leaders Malone in Division 2A after their 29-17 bonus point win away at City of Armagh. Paddy O’Toole contributed two tries, three conversions and a penalty of Highfield’s tally. Miah Cronin and Colin O’Neill also scored tries.
Midleton moved away from the relegation zone in Division 2C after their 21-17 home win against Malahide. Trailing 17-3 after thirty minutes, Aidan McCarthy came off the bench having retired at the end of last season. This lifted the home side and they were deserving winners. Out half Stuart Lee scored a try, three penalties and a conversion with Kieran Moynihan getting Midleton’s other try.
