There were important wins for both Dolphin and U.C.C. in the Ulster Bank League as holder’s Cork Constitution advanced to the semi finals of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup.

Dolphin have moved out of the relegation zone in Division 1B after a 17-15 win over Blackrock College in an exciting tie at Irish Independent Park.
Chris Rowe scored two tries for Dolphin and Will Hanly one with Daryl Foley kicking a conversion.

U.C.C. moved into third place in Division2A after a 38-0 bonus point win over Thomond.
Ben Mitchell, Kevin O’Keeffe, Chris McAuliffe and Tim Clifford scored tries for College. O’Keeffe kicked three conversions and three penalties and Clifford added a drop goal.

Holders Cork Constitution advanced to the semi finals of the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup after their 11-9 win over Garryowen at Temple Hill.

Two penalties from Tomas Quinlan gave Con’ a 6-0 interval lead. Conor Kindregan added a try in the second half and Neil Cronin replied with three penalties for Garryowen.

In the Cyril Fitzgerald Plate, Highfield defeated Shannon 12-0 at Woodleigh Park. Highfield were awarded a penalty try which Paddy O’Toole converted and Chris Bannon also scored a try for the home side.

Holders Sunday’s Well defeated Kanturk 27-21 at Knocknacolan. Eoin Geary, Mark Chandler and Ross O’Mahony scored tries for the ‘Well and Shane O’Riordan converted all three and kicked two penalties.
Sean Cremin and John Duggan replied with tries for Kanturk.
