There were wins for Cork Constitution, U.C.C. and Sunday’s Well in their respective Ulster Bank League play offs.

Cork Constitution will face Clontarf in the Ulster Bank League Division 1A Final on Sunday 8th May at the Aviva Stadium after their wins over Young Munster and U.C.D respectively.

At Temple Hill Cork Constitution defeated Young Munster 22-16. The visitors took the lead with a Gearoid Lyons penalty inside the opening minute but good work by Luke Cahill sent Niall Kenneally in for a Con’ try which Tomas Quinlan converted for a 7-3 lead after six minutes.

There was no further scoring in the opening half.
Penalties from Lyons on 52 and 62 minutes made 9-7, before Quinlan replied with a Con’ penalty to restore their advantage.

A try from Craig Hanlon converted by Lyons saw Young Munster lead 16-10 approaching eighty minutes.
Indiscipline by The Cookies resulted in two yellow cards and Con’ were awarded a penalty try which Quinlan converted to make it 17-16.

Deep in injury time a break by Aaron Spring sent Kenneally in for his second try.

Clontarf defeated UCD 24-10 in the other semi final.

In the Division 1B/2A playoff UCC must travel to Blackrock College in next week’s final after both won their respective semi final ties.
UCC travelled to Banbridge and defeated the Co. Down side 41-21. In a closely fought opening half tries from Chris McAuliffe, Paul Kiernan and Kevin Slater and a penalty and two conversions by Tim Clifford gave the students a 22-21 half time lead.
Two tries from Eddie Earle and another by Paul Kiernan, two of which Clifford converted gave the students a convincing win.

Blackrock College defeated Cashel 24-7 in the other semi final at Stradbrook. The Tipperary side’s only score was a penalty try which Pat O’Connor converted.

Sunday’s Well won promotion to Division 2A with a scintillating first half performance that saw them defeat Greystones 34-22 at Irish Independent Park.
Three tries in the opening ten minutes, two from Cathal Quinn and the other from Greg Higgins all converted by Shane O’Riordan.

A fourth try by Josh Neilson converted by O’Riordan and a penalty had the ‘Well 31-5 ahead at half time.
Greystones dominated the second half scoring three tries and the ‘Well’s only reply was another O’Riordan penalty.
