Schools Development Squads Go Head To Head

North and South Munster Schools Development Squads competed against each other in an exciting training game last Monday at Charleville RFC.

The game was co-ordinated as part the squads’ summer development programme by Munster Coach Development Officers John Lacey and Keith Murphy.

All players involved have been nominated by their respective schools to take part in the development programme which began in early July.

Over 75 players have been involved in the programme which has included two strength and conditioning sessions and two skill development sessions each week.

Participating players are competing for places for the Munster Schools extended Panel 2013 as part of the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) pathway.

The game was of high tempo from start to finish with both teams playing creative rugby and demonstrating high skill levels. Ireland International Referee George Clancy officiated proceedings which included three 20 minute games to accommodate the involvement of all players.

Munster Rugby would like to thank Charleville RFC for the use of their facilities and pitches, which were in impeccable condition.
