Schools Mid Week Roundup

C.B.C. have moved to the top of the Bowen Shield with two rounds remaining after their 18-0 home win over Ard Scoil Ris at Lansdowne.

C.B.C. 18, Ard Scoil Ris 0.

Despite playing into a strong wind at Lansdowne the home side led 3-0 at half time with a penalty from Ryan Foley.

A second Foley penalty extended Christians advantage. Charlie Slowey scored their first try which Foley converted and in the last play of the game Adam McCarthy touched down to make it 18-0.

Castletroy’s challenge received a set back when they lost at home to St. Munchin’s 8-5. David Grant scored a try for Castletroy.

Glenstal Abbey ran out 34-0 home winners over Bandon Grammar. Owen Hurley and Tom Ryan each scored two tries for the winners. Kevin O’Keeffe and Paddy Glavey got one each and O’Keeffe and Andrew Deveraux each kicked a conversion.

The Crescent v Pres tie was called off due to the Dooradoyle ground being unplayable.

In the McCarthy Cup (Under 15 League) C.B.C. recorded a narrow 13-10 home win over Ard Scoil Ris. Michael Clune scored a try for the winners and Michael O’Halloran converted and also added two penalties. Kelvin Brown got a try for Ard Scoil and Shane Fenton kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Castletroy ran out easy winners at home to St Munchin’s on a 35-0 score line.
