An impressive recovery by Ardscoil Rís at Thomond Park saw them advance to the semi-finals of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior Cup.

Castletroy opened the scoring with a try from Michael O’Halloran after 10 minutes and Sean Madden converted. Madden added a penalty three minutes later to give Castletroy a 10-0 lead.

Ardscoil got back in the game just before half-time with a great try from Daniel Okeke which was converted by Alex O’Halloran to leave the half time score 10-7 in favour of Castletroy.

Ardscoil took control in the second-half with an early try from James Hourigan converted by O’Halloran.

It was 21-10 after 51 minutes, Lochlainn O’Keeffe scoring Ardscoil’s third try and O’Halloran added the extras.

A great display by Ardscoil saw them add further tries from O’Keeffe, Hourigan, Killian Dineen and John Salmon with O’Halloran and John Moloney adding conversions.

Cillian Toland scored a late try which Madden converted.
