Defending champions Glenstal Abbey were knocked out of the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior Cup after Bandon Grammar defeated them in their quarter-final replay (31-14).

The West Cork side were unlucky not to have it won it the first day at Irish Independent Park but made no mistake this time.

Bandon Grammar Captain Jack Crowley gave his side a great start with a try and a conversion after five minutes but the holders were level ten minutes later with a try from Daniel O’Mahony and a conversion by Caolan Dooley.

Moses Lynn restored Bandon’s advantage with a try on 26 minutes and Crowley converted. A Jason Connolly try converted by Crowley left it 21-7 in favour of the West Cork side at half-time.

A penalty early in the second-half by Crowley extended Bandon’s lead but a smashing try by Taylor Gleeson converted by Dooley gave new life to Glenstal.

Eight minutes from time Crowley scored his second try and also converted it to put the game beyond Glenstal.
