Season begins for Munster U18 Girls

On Saturday 14th March The Munster Under 18 Girl’s team have their first match of the season against Canadian High School side Thomas A Stewarts on Saturday at Tanner Park (Ballincollig RFC) with a 2.30 kick-off.
The Munster side is Captained by Louise Fitzgerald and is drawn from a squad of 26 who were identified from trials earlier in the season. This is the third season for representative under 18 girls in the province. Last year was a disappointing one as only one fixture was able to be played. However, this season, four matches are in store. Following Saturday’s match, the Munster girls will go on to play Connacht away on 28th March. On 10th April they will play a County Donegal selection in Young Munster RFC in Limerick and they will finish up their season with a home fixture against Connacht 25th April in Clanwilliam FC, Tipperary town.
As there are four games to play it is hoped to involve as many players as possible. Apart from one position that remains open until a late call on some slight injuries, the selection to play Thomas A Stewart is as follows:
